We got home yesterday from our 3 week trip across the country. The first stop was Las Vegas. The kids had a great time at the pool and water slides. We had pretty good views from the 20th floor. We stayed 2 nights and then drove 22 hours to Kansas.
The kids did great in the car all day playing games, coloring, watching movies and stuff. At night we put on their jammies, passed out pillows and blankets and they slept all night. It was too easy! Dodd pulled an all nighter to get us there. Thank you Monster drinks.
We spent a week at Teresa's playing with the cousins. We went swimming twice, ate at Sonic, did a huge slip-n-slide, made cookies, went to the movies, and made more cookies. Teresa has become a cookie making ninja. Check out her cookies here.
After a week in Kansas Dodd and I left the kids with my sister (with lots of tears... mostly from mom) and flew to New York. We walked around Time Square the first night. It was packed. We couldn't believe all the people.
The next day we did 3 bus tours of upper Manhattan, lower Manhattan and a night tour that went to Brooklyn. We also squeezed in a Broadway play.
The next morning my sister Emily, Mike and baby Heath met us in New York!! We visited the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Washington Square Park, The Peanut butter Sandwich shop, the Top of Rockefeller Center, Carnegie Deli and more. Heath was so good except for when he pooped on my lap. I wore the baby wrap to hide the poo, and therefor wore the baby all day too. It was a good pay off!
Emily and Mike drove us back to their place in Boston. We walked the Freedom Trail, visited the State House, got Mike's Pastries, went to the North Bridge where the Revolutionary War started, ate at Five Guys, did a trolley tour, and a harbor cruise, touched the Atlantic ocean at Marblehead, watched movies, baked cupcakes, and best of all snuggled their baby!
Isn't this baby the cutest! He is so sweet. I love him! Thanks Emily and Mike for letting me smother your baby for 4 days!
At the North Bridge. I can now tell you how the Revolutionary war started. I am sure I probably learned it in school but couldn't remember. Why is history so much more fascinating when you get older?
Emily and Heath
A house at Marblehead we are going to buy someday.

It was an awesome trip but we were happy to get back to these guys. My sister took care of these 7 kids for a week. She is the best. Thanks Teresa!

On our way home, just after Micah got carsick. Traffic was stopped on a bridge in Colorado and everyone was out of their cars looking around. It was good timing because we needed a break. We are all so happy to be home and out of the car!!

I had so much fun! I love you guys and miss you and want you to come back. We seriously need to look for a compound for sale! Thanks for the link to my cookies. I'm having fun dreaming up new ones to bake. It's very quiet here without you guys - give all the kids hugs!
