9 Years!!

Today is our 9 year anniversary!! Time really does fly. Dodd and I were married two weeks after my brother and his wife... my poor mom, I didn't know what I was doing to her at the time. Nine years later I really do have the life I always wanted. I have 3 great kids and a husband who loves us. I couldn't ask for more.

This is the first picture I have of Dodd and I. We met at a church dance and for some reason I was sitting by myself.???? Dodd walked up and pretended he was going to walk past me, and at the last second he turned and asked if I would dance. So sly!! I thought Dodd was oh so cool and loved that he could have a conversation with anyone. Happy Aniversary Honey!!!

Six Kids?!?

Well we have been gone a good part of July. Kansas for two weeks and then a week at the lake playing on Tammy and Don's boat. Dodd starts work again tomorrow and is feeling depressed after having the whole month off. I am sure it will feel normal again by the end of the week.
Today we went to church with 6 kids!!! Teresa's 2 boys came back to CA with us and have been staying at Tammy's. Cody left for scout camp yesterday so Tammy brought them to our house to play for the weekend before they go home on Tuesday. Jesse wanted to stay with all the cousins too, so she spent the night and went to church with us also. I was surprised that getting ready this morning wasn't as hectic as I thought it was going to be. I told Dodd several times, "see we could do six kids". Then he laughed and called me crazy!!! I am lucky I am married to a man who has a limit on children because I would be one of those wacky women saying, "oh yes Honey.... 10 kids sounds great!!".

I am really glad to be home, but I do miss all of my family. The highlights of an Ashby get together must include, projects, shopping, good food and family bingo. One of the evenings this trip we did a talent/skit night. It was truly the most entertaining night of the whole week!! The kids did some great skits and we had fun just laughing at (I mean with) each other. Emily and Mike, who have been married just over a year, stole the show with this number. Mike is hilarious and made this up on the spot. We love you Janice!!!!

Kansas Vacation Slide Show!

So who says Kansas isn't one of the great vacation spots of the world!? We have been in Topeka Kansas for almost two weeks and have had a blast! We have been so busy playing. We went to a water park, a T-Rex Cafe (which is like Rainforest Cafe but with dinosaurs), batting cages, bowling, Gage Park (it has a carousal and a train), the movies and lots of shopping!!! Tammy had bought a slip-n-slide but the Dads didn't think it was big enough so they bought a hundred foot sheet of plastic and made the world's biggest slip-n-slide. The kids are the happiest just playing with the cousins. We are really going to miss them when we leave on Tuesday!!

Fishing with the bros

Saturday Dodd and his brothers went deep sea fishing. They had a great time... if you call waking up at 4:00am, throwing up all day and getting a sunburn fun!!! But they enjoyed themselves and even caught a few fish. Dodd said he was rewarded with the one of the biggest fish because he feed them the most!! Yuck!!
